Griffin on tape
The scoreboard
Every number here is Griffin's own statement on his June call, quoted as said.
- Season went from roughly $50K to almost $80K. He says it twice: “I’m sold out, like almost 80K” and “I think we’re at like 80K too”
- Home service in Toronto
- On lead quality, he would rather have 30 qualified than 87 random
What we are deliberately not claiming: Griffin’s ad spend and return was disputed live on his own call, so we do not publish an ad return figure for him. The season lift is the number he stated himself, twice, and that is the only one here.
Where he started
Griffin was running a real Toronto home service book and doing fine on paper, but the machine underneath it was him. Leads came in and waited on him to get to them, and between production days there was no time to get to them properly. A season sitting around $50K with the owner as the bottleneck is the exact shape we keep seeing.
What we built, in order
- Reactivation on the old list first. Before a new dollar went anywhere, the names already in his phone got worked. On tape he puts it at another “like 15 K... reactivation.”
- Automated follow up. The piece he singles out unprompted. Every lead gets texted and chased whether or not Griffin is on a roof that afternoon.
- Ads feeding the same rails. Traffic pointed into the same follow up system rather than into an inbox nobody reads.
What happened
The season closed out at almost $80K, up from roughly $50K, a number he states twice in his own words. What he keeps coming back to is not the revenue though. It is that the chasing stopped being his job.
In his words
“Just having the automated texts, it's, it's life.”Griffin, on camera, June call
And on the thing every operator gets wrong about lead volume:
“I'd rather even just have like 30 and then be qualified”Griffin, over 87 random ones
Steal this move
Count your qualified, not your leads. Griffin's instinct is the one most owners have backwards. 87 leads you cannot work is a worse month than 30 that are ready to buy, because the 87 costs you the one thing you cannot buy back: the evenings you spend sorting them. This week, take your lead count and cross off everyone who was never going to book. Whatever is left is your real number. Build for that one.
